PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 2,717 Covid-19 cases and 11 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 2,292 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 365,900.

In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 390,252.

There are 22,926 active cases, with 272 patients being treated in intensive care and 124 requiring respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, the 11 deaths take the number of fatalities to 1,426.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 768. This was followed by Sarawak (570), Kelantan (518), Kuala Lumpur (240), Penang (134), Sabah (132), Johor (126), Perak (54), Terengganu (50), Kedah (34), Melaka (30), Negeri Sembilan (27), Pahang (22), Putrajaya (11) and Perlis (1).

Labuan did not record any new cases today.

The new cases today involved 2,691 local infections and 26 imported cases. Local cases comprised 2,493 Malaysians and 198 foreigners.
