KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 — It was all shouts and laughter at the home of a 61-year-old woman who was shocked to discover that her real name is Hapidah and not Hadiah as she had thought all these years.
Hadiah means gift or present in Malay and it’s very unusual for parents to name their child as such.
The revelation came after her family stumbled upon her long-lost birth certificate in an old briefcase that hadn’t been opened in 13 years.
“Your name isn’t Hadiah, you dummy,” shrieked a female relative as she held up the birth certificate to Hapidah, who was seen sitting on an armchair in a TikTok video.
“Your secret’s out!” she continued as gathered family members howled with laughter.
Hapidah aka Hadiah, dressed in a black top and purple headscarf, reacted by covering her face with her hands in surprise.

The hilarious revelation was captured on video and uploaded on TikTok by another family member named Lyana.
It has since gone viral and garnered over 14,000 likes.
“61 years as Hadiah… now Hadiah surprised,” said one follower.
“The name Hadiah is not logical,” said another.
“Are you going to continue using the name Hadiah or changing to Hapidah?” asked a third.
If only she could tell us because we all want to know.
