AlUla: The Royal Commission for AlUla has opened a new department, “Film AlUla,” to promote the region as a top destination for movie studios and filmmakers, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The new body will employ the region’s picturesque landscapes and historical monuments to advertise shooting locations.
It will also support local productions and work with government agencies as part of the commission’s mission to realize the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by supporting national talent in the film industry.
Several international producers have expressed interest in exploring AlUla as a destination for films, including a new Hollywood title that will soon be announced.
Two new movies — “Bayn Al-Rima” and “Noura” — will also begin filming in AlUla. Both titles are directed and produced by Saudis.
