Armenians forced to evacuate Nagorno-Karabakh face uncertain future




Like Rafik and Susan, dozens of Armenian families are reluctantly packing their bags in Nagorno-Karabakh, a disputed enclave in the heart of the Caucasus where a brief war between Armenia and Azerbaijan claimed more than 5,000 lives in 2020. Aghavno, like two other villages in the Lachin corridor, is part of the territory ceded by Armenia to Azerbaijan in virtue of the 2020 ceasefire agreements. FRANCE 24’s team met some of those forced to evacuate their homes.
