Odegaard backed for captaincy

Aaron Ramsdale says he would have “no problem” with Arsenal handing the captain’s armband to Martin Odegaard.

Mikel Arteta is in need of a new captain having let former leader Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang join Barcelona in January. Alexandre Lacazette appeared to be his successor, with the Frenchman regularly announced as captain following Aubameyang’s exit.

And the forward’s comments since leaving Arsenal appear to show he still has a genuine fondness for the Gunners – while Mikel Arteta has also spoken about how much he rates Gnabry in the past as well.

Bruno Guimaraes’ sleepless nights

Former Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes has admitted he suffered a number of sleepless nights while weighing up a January transfer.

The Brazil international eventually opted to join Newcastle United’s Saudi-led revolution, despite reported interest from the Gunners. And it appears the decision was not an easy one for Guimaraes, who says he “went about four days without sleep”

But despite the Gunners’ interest in signing him, it seems clear the midfielder has no regrets about his choice now.
