People watching television at Kim Seng Community Centre on April 26, 1974. Viewers no longer had to dread the interruption to their nightly shows as the 10.30pm switch-off time at community centres to save electricity had ended. Community centres were advised to keep the TV sets on till past midnight, unless there were special requests or arrangements.
