World boxing champion Mairis Briedis has had a tattoo inked on his leg in a bid to entice YouTube star Jake Paul into a fight.

YouTube star Paul has been embroiled in several feuds within the sport and in UFC including Canelo Alvarez, Gervonta Davis and Tommy Fury.

He recently defeated former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in a rematch with a brutal KO and is eyeing his next opponent.

Now Briedis, who holds the IBF cruiserweight belt, has posted a video on his Instagram of him having a tattoo inked and he said : “Today we will make some crazy scenes. Let’s go and see what’s happening Jake.

“Hey Jake, I’ve got something for you, Jake, now it’s your turn.”

Briedis was shown walking into a tattoo parlour and talking through the design of the ink with an artist before sitting in the chair and having it created on the upper part of his leg.

The design of the tattoo is a bull with bright red eyes with the writing scribed ‘Jake Paul’s Bad Karma’ on both sides of the head.

Briedis has an impressive record of 29-1 in his professional career and would be by far the most stern test of Paul’s career if a fight was agreed.

The Latvian has shared the ring with the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Mahmoud Charr and was challenged to unify the division by Lawrence Okolie.

However this seems unlikely to materialise in the near future with Okolie forced to move to other options and defend his title in February.

Paul was offered the cruiserweight title fight by Briedis’ promoter Kalle Sauerland who made the offer on social media last year.

One condition of the offer came that Paul would have to retire from the sport if he was to accept the challenge but it never received response from the YouTube fighter.

However the YouTube star is yet to make a decision on his next boxing exploit and has fulfilled a long-term promise to himself by taking a holiday.

He plans to return next year and has called out a number of options including Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and UFC stars Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor.

Paul is planning to remain in the sport despite his recent retirement offer to UFC president Dana White and will continue his quest to retire as an undefeated world champion.

“It’s so interesting because, at the beginning of the year, I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll go 10-0 and then retire’,” Paul told Boxing with Chris Mannix. “But in a blink of an eye, all of a sudden, I’m 5-0.

“I feel like I just finished my rookie season and I just finished chapter one of the book. And there’s so much more left for me to read. And I’m young, I’m motivated, and I’m only getting better and better and better.

“So it’s weird to try and map it out but I definitely want to go undefeated and then retire. So whether that’s 10 fights, 15 fights – we’ll see, I guess.”
