Car hits two vehicles, motorcycle during chase by cops


Two individuals were slightly hurt after the suspect’s car rammed a patrol car, another vehicle and a motorcycle.

KLUANG: A motorist rammed his car against a patrol car, a private vehicle and a motorcycle after he was pursued by police at Taman Intan, near here, yesterday.

Police arrested the 35-year-old suspect and found a bag containing drug-taking utensils and another bag containing five packets of heroin weighing 3gm and two packets of what was believed to be syabu weighing 1.05gm.

Kluang district police chief Mohd Abduh Ismail said two civilians were only slightly hurt in the incident.

He said police on patrol duty ordered the suspect’s car to stop at Batu 4, Jalan Kluang-Mersing when they saw the driver behaving suspiciously.

However, the car sped towards Ayer Hitam but turned back towards Kluang, hitting a patrol car at a roadblock at the junction of Felda Ayer Hitam, and a car and motorcycle at a traffic light junction near Taman Intan.

The man was arrested when the car stalled at the traffic lights.
