During those family gatherings, snacking is a must so load up on those prawn crackers or even murukku.

With prawn crackers, most places tend to make theirs with a lot more flour than prawns, leaving you unsatisfied with each bite.

These particular prawn crackers from myReal that is based in Pangkor is simply addictive as they are made with a higher ratio of prawn meat compared to tapioca flour. Be warned that once you open a packet of these prawn crackers, you will end up eating it all in one go.

The brand is available online at https://lumutcrackers.com and in supermarkets. I usually place my orders through an old uncle who also sells the prawn crackers with an assortment of murukku.

You can also get an assortment of 'murukku' from Uncle Ah Lek like the harder ribbon type with shallots, or thin long type with a light prawn flavour or the fine crunchy type with green beans.

You can pick up the items from Chow Kit once you place an order with him. The prawn crackers are sold in two sizes: 320 grams box or 100 grams container. He sells the 320 grams for RM26 and the 100 grams for RM13.

For the murukku, he has a variety of flavours for RM11 per packet. The packets weigh around 300 grams to 500 grams. What we like are the long thin murukku with prawn flavour or the tiny crunchy sev type labelled “halus” with green beans.

There’s also a thicker ribbon-like murukku with shallots flavour that has a harder crunchy texture.
