David Haye believes Anthony Joshua has little chance of beating Tyson Fury after watching ‘The Gypsy King’ beat Deontay Wilder in their trilogy fight.

Fury secured an 11th round knockout win after an enthralling showdown with his old rival in Las Vegas on Saturday.

While the two would for now appear to be on different trajectories, there is still some hope Fury and Joshua will meet at some point in their careers, after a proposed all-British unification showdown collapsed in the summer.

Haye has previously backed Joshua to get the better of Fury. But after witnessing Fury dismantle Wilder, the former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion would appear to have changed his mind.

‘I think off the strength of that performance, it would be very tough for AJ,’ Haye told BT Sport.

‘Having watched AJ’s last performance against Usyk, the shots that Fury took down the pipe from Wilder, he was able to get back up and rough him up.

‘The fact that AJ stood at range with Usyk having a boxing match… is AJ going to beat Fury in a boxing match? I don’t believe so.’

Joshua’s next fight is set to be a rematch against Usyk with promoter Eddie Hearn confirming this weekend that contest is likely to take place next spring.

Fury meanwhile could be up against Dillian Whyte next should the Brixton fighter beat Otto Wallin and retains his status as WBC ‘interim’ champion on 30 October.
