This latest enhanced movement control order will run from June 8 to June 21.

PETALING JAYA: Several localities in Pahang and Sabah will go under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from June 8 to June 21.

Senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob there had been a spike in Covid-19 cases and high infection rates found in the localities.

In Pahang, the EMCO will affect Kampung Jaya Gading, a part of Kampung Seri Damai and Bandar Baru Jaya Gading and also the Gebeng Industrial Area, all in Kuantan.

In Sabah, the localities are: Kampung Ongkilan in Kota Marudu, Kampung Pulutan and Kampung Murni C in Nabawan, Kampung Bolong Baru in Tuaran, Kampung Tamalang and Kampung Tuguson in Kota Belud, and also Kampung Bergosong in Tawau.

Ismail also announced that the EMCO affecting the subdistricts of Beserah, Kuala Kuantan 1, Kuala Kuantan 2, Penor, Sungai Karang, Ulu Kuantan and Ulu Lepar in Kuantan, Pahang, and also Taman Abaka in Tawau, Sabah will end on June 7 as scheduled.

He said police arrested 982 individuals for breaching movement control order SOPs yesterday. Out of the total, 933 were fined and 49 were remanded.

Among the offences were not wearing face masks (222), failure to record personal details or check in with MySejahtera (150), crossing state/district borders without police permission or eating in at premises (133), flouting physical distancing rules (125), not complying with MCO regulations (89), premises going against instructions (23) and others (135).
