Fans go gaga over ‘Hong Kong’s Cristiano Ronaldo’ in city’s football team

A Hong Kong striker has become the talk of the town for his good looks and football skills.

Matt Orr, who plays for Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee, is gaining popularity in no small part due to his resemblance to world-class footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

“He’s as handsome as Cristiano Ronaldo, add oil,” said one netizen.

“He is the combination of Cristiano Ronaldo and Daniel Wu,” said another, referring to the US actor who was active in Hong Kong and known for his good looks.

Some internet users pointed out the 25-year-old also looks like Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus and Canadian-born Hong Kong actor-singer Edison Chen.

Others said that he is not only handsome, but also has an enviable height of 190cm.

“🤤🤤🤤 I want to watch him play football non-stop,” another netizen added.

Orr, who is of partial New Zealand descent, joined Kitchee‘s academy at 11 years old.

He studied at the University of San Francisco and Syracuse University, where he represented the colleges’ soccer teams, and returned to join his childhood club in 2019, where he has been playing since then.

A Hong Kong international, Orr recently scored two goals in the city’s Asian Cup qualifying campaign, which helped the football team get into the finals for the first time in 54 years.

The striker is also signed to modeling agency CalCarries International Management.
