KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — Head of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) Youth wing Armada, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, today defended PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang over his recent remarks that allegedly touched on the issue of race, religion, and royalty (3R).
The Machang MP said that unlike Lim Guan Eng, who recently cautioned against letting the “green wave” into Penang due to the alleged risk to religious freedom there, the PAS president only stated the facts.
“Tuan Guru has never run away from the police when called for investigation and always explained his statements to them. I think it is all backed up with facts. I was there when he said the same thing in Terengganu,” he said, referring to Hadi.
“It is unfair from our point of view when DAP is clearly playing up the ‘3R’ to Chinese voters. We always abide by the law.”
