Hong Kong Olympian athletes will each get to name a bus from Kowloon Motors’ fleet

To honor the Hong Kong team’s performance at the Tokyo Olympics, Kowloon Motor Bus Company (KMB) is giving all 36 athletes representing the city in the games the chance to name a bus from their fleet.

“We want to award all of Hong Kong’s elite athletes’ outstanding achievements at the Tokyo Olympics. We will give them bus-naming rights, allowing each person to personally name a bus!” KMB wrote in a Facebook announcement Wednesday, shortly after star swimmer Siobhan Haughey came in second place in the women’s 200-meter freestyle.

A plaque with the athlete’s chosen name and description will be installed inside the bus, the company added in a press release.

KMB, which is also giving all Olympians unlimited bus rides for a year, will also roll out a new Olympics-themed bus that will cruise around Hong Kong in celebration of the athletes’ performances.
