KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 ― K-pop star Jin of BTS surprised fans with new photos of himself in full army uniform.
On Wednesday, the 30-year-old took to the Korean fansite Weverse to update fans on how he was doing in military service.
“I’m having fun. I’m posting a photo with permission from the military,” he wrote.
“Army, always be happy and stay well.”
‘Army’ refers to the nickname given to superfans of BTS.
Jin attended a ceremony for completing five weeks of basic training at the Fifth Infantry Division.
The oldest BTS member enlisted to mandatory service on December 13, 2022, as an active duty soldier and will continue to serve as an assistant instructor in his battalion.

BTS fans online were ecstatic to receive an update from the K-pop star following his hiatus from social media in December.
Many of the “Army” congratulated Jin on his promotion and looked forward to his return from the military.
In Korea, 18-month military service is compulsory for all able-bodied men by the time they are 28 years old.
However, in 2020 a law was passed that allowed South Koreans who ‘excelled in popular art and culture’ to delay their service until age 30.
BTS is expected to reunite in 2025 after all its seven members complete their military service.
