KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 — Hong Kong celebrities including Malaysian-born actress Jacquelin Ch’ng are assisting in investigations for their links to crypto exchange platform JPEX.
The city state’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) had identified the platform as operating without a licence.
Ch’ng returned to Hong Kong from Malaysia yesterday to assist in investigations.
Besides her, singer and actor Julian Cheung was assisting authorities with their investigations, Dim Sum Daily reported.
According to the portal, Ch’ng left the Wan Chai police station at 3.40am today and denied knowing the suspects.
To date, 11 individuals have been arrested including social media influencers Joseph Lam Chok and Chan Yee.
A total of 2,197 victims had filed reports with losses amounting to approximately HK$1.37 billion (RM821.4 million).
