The talented German youngster has been in impressive form following the Bundesliga restart a few weeks ago.
Since fixtures have resumed, Havertz has already netted five times in four appearances.
He has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Man City, but former Premier League star Dietmar Hamann feels United should be seriously weighing up a move.
“I think a lot of Premier League clubs will be interested in him, he’s a terrific player and there’s not many better around at the moment,” Hamann told Sky Sports.
“If you look at Manchester United, it’s very clear they need new personnel going forward, and I think he’d improve pretty much every team.
“Liverpool are a bit different with the way they set-up and play, but besides that I think he improves every team.”
Leverkusen are already resigned to losing Havertz in the summer, though the current economic crisis could affect the spending of potential suitors.
The player himself has remained coy over talks of a move, and has stated he will keep quiet as he “doesn’t want to mess it up”.
Hamann added: “Before the break people were talking about three figures, a hundred-odd million, if that’s a price any club is prepared to pay in the summer, I’m not sure, but the likelihood is he will leave Leverkusen and take on another challenge in the summer.”
United have been heavily linked with a move for Havertz’s Bundesliga rival Jadon Sancho, who scored a hat-trick at the weekend.
But they could be tempted by a move for Havertz, who scored his 35th Bundesliga goal this week, making him the only player in history under the age of 21 to reach that total.
Teammate Leon Bailey said to the Bundesliga’s official website : “I’m very happy for him, of course. He’s very, very talented – I think we all know that.
“For him to be able to be doing that gives young players a vision. Anything is possible once you work hard. I think Kai Havertz is a very hard-working player.
“He’s smart, and very intelligent on the pitch. I hope he continues to do this and help the team as much as possible because we need him.”
