No day off: carers of people with mental illness struggle to find support in Hong Kong



May Zhang* always used to say that she and her husband were like conjoined twins, because she has stayed so close beside him through 16 years of marriage.

“We stick with each other for 24 hours every day,” she said.

Her husband, Hongkonger Joseph Wong*, 57, has lived with schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder for more than 30 years.
