Follow all the action as Will Zalatoris takes a one-shot lead into the third round of the PGA Championship.
The 25-year-old American followed an opening round of 66 with a 65 on Friday as he bids to win his maiden major title. He will be paired with Mito Pereira in the final group, who had never previously made the cut at a major. There is a packed field in close pursuit behind them that includes Bubba Watson, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy. The Northern Irishman failed to build on his spectacular start and carded a one-over-par round of 71 yesterday and now sits five shots off the lead.
Tiger Woods once again showed extraordinary mettle to avoid the cut after a round of 69, although his hopes of a 16th major victory are now obsolete after carding a third-round score of 79. There are several notable names who failed to make the cut, though, including world No 1 and Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, Dustin Johnson and Patrick Cantlay. “Definitely frustrating,” Scheffler said. “I’m disappointed too. It’s never fun missing a cut. I want to be able to play the weekend and try to grind it out as hard as I could. I just didn’t have it this week.”

McIlroy finds himself in the back green-side bunker at the first but plays a lovely shot to get out of trouble and rolls it to within three feet. He gave that a chance, but moves on with par.
Justin Thomas and Bubba Watson are now underway in the group behind.
Will Zalatoris, now on the tee, looks relaxed as he shares a joke with Mito Pereira.

Fitzpatrick is now underway at -3, but Hatton is set to drop back to where he started after finding the creek at the second.
McIlroy is up on the tee alongside playing partner Abraham Ancer. He has a great opportunity here to bounce back from yesterday’s disappointment.

There we go. An opening birdie for Tyrell Hatton gets the Englishman to -3. Both Hatton and Fitzpartick, who tees off next, are well placed to make a charge today.
Both players, however, have been very critical of the greens at Southern Hills so far this week.

It’s been a tough day for Tiger Woods but he is still applauded onto the 18th green as if he was leading the PGA Championship.
Instead, at +12, is at the bottom of the leaderboard out of those players who have made the weekend.
Woods is left with five feet to avoid hitting 80 – and he manages it – but after hitting 69 to make the cut yesterday today’s 79 is a sobering score.

Webb Simpson has carded a lovely round of 65 to get himself back into the red after starting the day at +4. The American hit five birdies and made an eagle with a chip-in at the par-5 13th.

Extraordinary! Kramer Hickok has just holed out from the bunker. The only problem, though, was that it was with his third attempt to get out. After his first two attempts hit the bank – and then deflected back to strike him – he lifts it out and it rols into the hole!

In testing conditions at Southern Hills, there are low scores to be had. That’s according to Webb Simpson, at least, who at -4 has by far set the lowest score of the day so far.
He still has a couple of holes to go, but is on the brink of the top 20 after clawing himself back to even par so far.

Rory McIlroy has arrived at Southern Hills ahead of his tee-off time at 7:30pm. There are about 10 groups still to go out but no one so far has been able to make a big move.
Woods, though, drops down to +13 with his fifth bogey in a row.

Make that +12 for Woods, as the bogey streak extends to four holes. The damage there came in finding the green-side bunker at the par-4 12th.
