Premier League transfer gossip and rumours

Spurs stalk Dybala

Tottenham Hotspur have made inquiries about the availability of Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

According to the London Evening Standard, Spurs are linked with a move for the Argentine, who has also recently been a target for Manchester United.

The paper says that Spurs will need to fork out £80m if they’re to bring the South American to north London.

Apparently Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is a “huge admirer” of his compatriot, and is also ready to meet Dybala’s £120,000-a-week wage demands.

Arsenal back in for Zaha – and Everton join race

Crystal Palace are bracing themselves for what The Sun describes as a “fresh approach” from Arsenal for Wilfried Zaha.

The winger is the Gunners’s dream signing this summer, but their initial £40m bid was laughed out of Selhurst Park by the Eagles who are demanding twice that much.

Arsenal, who had hoped to pay the sum over five years, were apparently testing the water with the opening offer and the Sun says their second bid will be “substantially higher”. But the paper says that the north London outfit should be wary of a rival bid from Everton, who see Zaha as the man to replace Idrissa Gueye, bound for Paris Saint-Germain.

Zaha’s preference is to join Arsenal, but Sky Sports says that Everton will hold talks with Palace this week regarding a deal for the 26-year-old.

Gueye agrees PSG deal

PSG have been after Idrissa Gueye for a while and according to talkSPORT they have agreed terms with Everton. Sky Sports, who also report the news, says that the Senegal international “is expected to cost the French champions £28m plus bonuses”. Gueye arrived at Goodison Park in 2016 and Everton rejected a £25m offer from PSG in January.

Bayern want Sane

Bayern Munich are not giving up on their ambition of prising Leroy Sane from Manchester City. Bayern boss Niko Kovac said: “We all know that Leroy Sane is our dream player. You can see that the transfer is not easy. But I know that our people are working very hard to make it happen. We will do everything to realise this transfer.” (Daily Mirror)

Pep won’t stop Sane leaving

Kovac’s counterpart, Pep Guardiola, seems to believe that 23-year-old Sane could be lured back to Germany. The Man City boss was asked by reporters about the situation on their pre-season tour to Hong Kong and he said: “We want him to stay and there is an offer waiting to talk with his agents to extend the contract. It is not in our hands. He has to decide. If he wants to leave, he can do it but we will be sad.” (BBC Sport)

United table Eriksen bid

Manchester United have made an official approach for Christian Eriksen, with Tottenham setting the asking price at £70m. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made no secret of his wish to bring the Dane to Old Trafford and Spurs are “warming to the idea of selling”. Why? Because Tottenham recently bagged Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and they are also closing in on Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, leading to speculation that Eriksen is now surplus to requirements. Gunners hopeful of Ceballos loan

Despite Marco Asensio’s injury at Real Madrid, Arsenal remain confident that they will sign his team-mate Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan. The midfielder is reportedly in London for a medical. (Sky Sports)

Aubameyang not for sale

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a move to Manchester United but Arsenal boss Unai Emery has quashed the speculation. Emery said: “We are very happy with Aubameyang and we don’t want to sell him.” (Metro)

Klopp rules out Coutinho and Bale moves

ESPN reports that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed any move to bring Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield. The Brazilian left Liverpool for Barcelona in January 2018. Sky Sports says that Klopp has also rubbished reports that the Merseyside club could make a move for Real Madrid and Wales forward Gareth Bale.

United not in for Fernandes

It is understood that Bruno Fernandes is unlikely to join Manchester United. Sporting Lisbon star Fernandes has been regularly linked with a move to Old Trafford, and while United have scouted the midfielder he is not one of their priority signings. (Sky Sports News

Lukaku is fit – but United won’t risk him

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is fit to play in the club’s pre-season matches but The Sun says that the Red Devils won’t risk him until a transfer to Inter Milan is either done or collapses. The Times adds that United have told Inter to hurry up on a deal.

Pepe to Old Trafford?
