PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 2,712 Covid-19 cases and 25 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 5,320 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 235,082.

In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 274,875.

There are 38,763 active cases with 227 patients being treated in intensive care and 103 requiring respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, the 25 deaths bring the number of fatalities to 1,030.
