ST News Night: S'pore urges de-escalation of situation in Myanmar

Presented by multimedia journalists Dylan Ang and Cheow Sue-Ann, it airs live at 9pm on ST’s Facebook, YouTube and Twitter channels.

News Night’s top story on Tuesday (March 2) – Singapore foreign minister Vivian Balakrishnan and other Asean foreign ministers met this afternoon. They held an informal virtual meeting with Myanmar’s envoy to try and resolve the worsening violence in the country since the military coup on Feb 1.

Separately, veteran actor Terence Cao was charged with allegedly breaking safe distancing rules. Cao and another male guest are accused of breaching phase two regulations that restricted social gatherings to no more than five people at Mediacorp artiste Jeffrey Xu’s birthday party last year.

Also making the news – ComfortDelGro will soon launch Zig, an app that allows users find their way around, call a taxi, make reservations at restaurants and even book staycations, all on one free platform.
