KUALA LUMPUR, January 14 — Ezra Miller, star of The Flash, pleaded guilty to illegal trespassing in a Vermont burglary case yesterday.
Miller was accused of breaking into a neighbour’s house and stealing several bottles of alcohol from their pantry in May 2022.
They were charged with trespassing, burglary and petty larceny, the last two offences which have been dropped.
Miller must now pay an RM2,167 fine and undergo a year-long probation period.
The 30-year-old star accepted a plea deal in a courthouse in Bennington to avoid a prison sentence of up to 25 years.
The deal included 41 conditions which included alcohol abstinence, drug tests, and a promise to continue seeking mental health treatment.
Miller’s attorney, Lisa Shelkrot, thanked the court and community for their trust and patience in the process in a statement to Variety.
She also acknowledged their family and friends for their love and support, stating they were a ‘vital presence’ in Miller’s mental health.
Miller fell into trouble with the law last year when they were arrested twice in Hawaii at a karaoke bar for disorderly conduct, harassment, and second-degree assault.
They have since apologised for their actions in August, saying they were going through a ‘complex mental health issue’ and assuring that they will be undergoing necessary treatment.
Miller is still set to star in the upcoming DC film, The Flash, coming to cinemas on June 16.
