The disaffected youth of one of Japan’s oldest coastal towns provide the focus for Takuya Misawa’s The Murders of Oiso, the belated follow-up to his 2014 debut feature, Chigasaki Story.

Produced by Hong Kong’s Wong Fei-pang, one of the five directors behind controversial anthology Ten Years , the film marks a rare Hong Kong co-production to have been executed without mainland Chinese support.
