Two Hong Kong police officers arrested for allegedly raping woman in hotel room: Report

Two police officers have reportedly been arrested on suspected charges of rape.

According to the South China Morning Post, the two officers were apprehended on Monday and Tuesday for allegedly raping a woman in a hotel room.

A police source told SCMP that the two officers met with the victim and her friend at a bar. After her friend left, they brought her to a hotel.

Coconuts has reached out to the police for comment but has not heard back at the time of writing.

The woman reported the incident to police and was sent to hospital for a check-up, the paper reported.

It’s not the first time this couple of months that the police force has had to arrest one of their own.

In May, two police officers were apprehended on charges relating to smuggling crystal meth and cocaine.

That same month, two police officers were arrested for allegedly converting an upstairs “party room” in Tuen Mun into an illegal gambling den.

According to the SCMP, 26 officers were arrested in the first half of this year.
