Fury hits out at Hearn ahead of Saunders vs Canelo (@tysonfury/Getty)

Tyson Fury has launched an expletive-ridden attack on promoter Eddie Hearn, accusing the Matchroom chief of failing to correctly promote Billy Joe Saunders ahead of his showdown with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Saunders put his WBO super-middleweight title on the line as he attempts to become only the second person after Floyd Mayweather Jr to beat WBA and WBC champion Canelo in Texas on May 8.

Long-time friends Saunders and Tyson are both in Las Vegas with the WBC heavyweight champion preparing for his heavyweight unification showdown with Anthony Joshua which is expected to take place this summer.

While Saunders is represented by Hearn and Matchroom, Fury has blasted the promoter and his group for overlooking their own man in the build-up to the Canelo fight.

In a video posted on his Instagram stories, Fury said: ‘I think Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn are absolute w*****s. They are up Canelo Alvarez’s ring piece a million miles.

‘Look on the f*****g webpage. All Canelo. Do you promote Billy Joe or not you little w*****g p***k?

‘Frank Warren is worth 10 of you, Eddie, you little sausage. He knows how to promote fighters, that’s why he is a Hall of Fame promoter.’

Saunders left Warren to sign up with Matchroom in 2019. Canelo meanwhile signed a two-fight deal with Matchroom in January with Hearn promoting his crushing victory over Avni Yildirim in February.

Saunders, a two-weight world champion and undefeated in 30 fights, enters the unification fight as the underdog but Fury insists Canelo has never been in the ring with anyone like the Briton.

‘Billy Joe Saunders is 100% mentally in the right place,’ Fury said. ‘He knows what he has to do, and he will do it.

‘He will rise above and claim greatness. I was written off many times in the past and have always come through.

‘We are cut from the same cloth. We are the same breed of animals.’
