Who’s Who: Dr. Maha bint Abdullah Al-Suleiman, undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Education for educational programs

Dr. Maha bint Abdullah Al-Suleiman has worked as undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Education for educational programs since June 2020.
Before that, she was director general of the General Administration of Special Education within the ministry.
Al-Suleiman has long-term experience in the higher education sector.
Before joining the ministry, she worked at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU).
At PNU, Al-Suleiman served in key positions such as dean of the College of Education, dean of the deanship of development and skills development, vice dean for educational affairs and acting dean of the home economics faculty.
She began her career as a special education teacher specializing in learning difficulties, and also worked as an assistant professor of special education at PNU.
Al-Suleiman worked in Bahrain as an assistant professor of special education at the Arabian Gulf University.
She obtained a bachelor’s degree in special education from King Saud University in Riyadh.
Later, she moved to Bahrain to obtain a master’s degree in learning disabilities from the Arabian Gulf University.
She completed a Ph.D. in learning difficulties and response to intervention from the University of Northern Colorado, US, in 2012, on top of a doctoral minor in applied statistics and research methods.
Al-Suleiman also attended a executive leadership program between 2015 and 2016, which was conducted in cooperation with INSEAD and PNU.
