Nur Jazlan Mohamed says it has become difficult to work with a party which does not know how to respect its allies.

JOHOR BAHRU: Johor Umno deputy chief Nur Jazlan Mohamed wants PAS to state its official stand on whose side it is on – with Umno in Muafakat Nasional (MN) or with PPBM and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Describing the party as making a “neither here nor there” stand in the current political equation, he has asked PAS to be “brave and honest” in making a decision on whose side it’s on.

“We would like to know their official stand from the leadership on whether they are still interested to cooperate with us in MN or they want to support PN. Umno is very clear on its stand,” he told Sinar Harian today.

“Don’t always manipulate the situation for the party’s political survival. Be dignified and make an honest choice.”

On a related matter, the former deputy home minister said PPBM can stop dreaming of getting any seats that Umno had contested in GE14 in the next general election.

He said the only seat they might consider giving up would be Pagoh for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, adding that their stand on fighting PPBM has not changed.

“PPBM leaders have become big-headed and are waiting to remove Umno from the political scene by deregistering us. If they want any other seat, they will have to fight us in GE15,” he said.

Johor Umno now joins its Perak and Selangor counterparts who have declared they would not give up any seats for PPBM.

Nur Jazlan, who is also the head of Umno Pulai, said it was becoming increasingly difficult to work with a party which did not know how to respect its allies.

“If we can’t be together, we will fight. Let’s see who is stronger,” he said.
