IPOH: A three-year-old road accident victim has died in hospital a week after her parents were killed in an April 7 road accident on the East-West Highway near Gerik.
The girl was the youngest child of retired soldier Kamizan Kasimon, 42, and wife Noor Asmah Mat Zainal, 38. She was admitted to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh but died while receiving treatment.
Gerik police chief Zulkifli Mahmood confirmed the death of the girl. She was the fourth death from the accident. The 54-year-old driver of a Toyota Innova involved in the crash died in Taiping Hospital on the night of the accident.
The couple and their two children were in a Proton Persona when their vehicle lost control and veered into the opposite lane before crashing into the Toyota on the Gerik-Jeli road. Five passengers travelling in the Toyota sustained injuries.
