England’s Lionesses are through to their first ever World Cup final after a sensational 3-1 victory over co-hosts Australia.

Ella Toone put Sarina Wiegman’s side ahead 10 minutes before the break but with a thunderous strike.

England controlled the game after the interval but Sam Kerr’s long-range effort just past the hour mark brought Australia level.

The European champions regained their composure and retook the lead with 20 minutes remaining thanks to Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo ensured there was no nervy finish with a smartly taken goal to book a place in Sunday’s final against Spain.

Follow’s live rolling coverage of the historic result reaction.
