Bersatu MP Wan Saiful pleads not guilty to soliciting, receiving RM6.9m of bribes in Jana Wibawa scandal


KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 — Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan today claimed trial to soliciting RM6.9 million from a private company in connection with the government’s Central Spine Road project worth RM232 million.

The 47-year-old Tasik Gelugor MP from Bersatu was charged under Section 16(a)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 for bribery involving the government’s Jana Wibawa scheme in the Sessions Court before judge Azura Alwi.

Bail was set at RM400,000 and he has to surrender his passport to the court before March 22.
