Heavy downpours to hit Hong Kong at midday as thundery showers edge closer

Hongkongers should brace for heavy downpours during lunchtime as thundery showers are edging closer to the city, the local forecaster has warned.

“Showers will be heavier around noon. Members of the public should be on the alert,” the Hong Kong Observatory said.

“The areas of thundery showers over the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary is edging closer to the territory gradually,” it added.

According to the forecast, the coming week is still rainy but it will get brighter later.
