What is Anna Wintour’s background?
Wintour seems to have inherited her father’s journalism gene. According to The Independent, her dad, British journalist Charles Wintour, worked as editor-in-chief of the London Evening Standard and helped get her first job in fashion at the London boutique, Biba.
Wintour’s brother Patrick – she has four siblings – also works in the journalism field as a diplomatic editor of The Guardian.

Charles, 39, followed in his late father’s footsteps and earned his doctor of medicine with a specialisation in psychiatry from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, per People. He is married to a woman named Elizabeth Cordry and they share two kids.
Bee Shaffer (née Katherine), 36, is also married. According to People, she married her husband Francesco Carrozzini, the son of late Franca Sozzani, Vogue Italia’s editor-in-chief, in 2018. She is a segment producer at Late Night with Seth Meyers, while her husband has directed music videos for music icons like Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and A$AP Rocky, and created ads for brands including Ermenegildo Zegna, Roberto Cavalli and Salvatore Ferragamo.

Wintour has been married for much of her life, but she has also sparked relationship rumours within the few years she’s been single.
One such speculated romance was with British actor Bill Nighy after the duo were seen hanging out on multiple occasions, then attending the Met Gala together last year, per Hollywood Life. However, Wintour’s rep later confirmed to People that they “are not in a relationship”.
There’s also her supposed “affair” with Jamaican singer Bob Marley. According to Jerry Oppenheimer’s 2004 book Front Row: Anna Wintour: What Lies Beneath the Chic Exterior of Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, she was “obsessed” with Marley in the 1970s and she even “disappeared with him for a week”.
Wintour later debunked these rumours in an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. “I’m really glad you asked me that. Fake news. I’ve never actually met Bob Marley. I’m sorry to disappoint,” she said.
