A second Super Mario Bros. movie has been confirmed for April 3, 2026.
Nintendo’s game director Shigeru Miyamoto took to the video game giant’s X (Twitter) page to announce another animated film in the universe is on the way in two years time.
Although there are no plot details for now, Miyamoto teased it will be a “bright and fun story”.
He wrote: This is Miyamoto. We are now creating a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. This film is planned for release in theatres on April 3rd, 2026 in the US and many other markets, and throughout the month of April in other territories.
