PETALING JAYA: Selangor Pakatan Harapan this evening named Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han as the election director for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election next month.

Selangor PH secretary Dr Khairuddin Othman said Ng, who is a state executive councillor, will be aided by Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin of DAP and Shah Alam MP Azli Yusof of Amanah.

Khairuddin said that he would also be helping Ng. “This team will coordinate the campaign drawn up by Selangor PH,” he said.

The four of them will also form committees that will hit the ground running right after nominations on April 27.

Khairuddin also said that the central PH leadership will decide on the candidates proposed by DAP.

The Kuala Kubu Baharu seat became vacant following the death of three-term assemblyman Lee Kee Hiong from DAP on March 21. Lee, 58, had represented the constituency since 2013.

Polling will take place on May 11, with early voting on May 7.

Yesterday, DAP deputy chairman Gobind Singh Deo said PH leaders will meet today to finalise the coalition’s candidate for the by-election.

Several names were proposed for consideration at a PH meeting in Shah Alam on Saturday. The names included proposed candidates from the women’s wing.
