SCDF swoops in to save 2 workers stranded on gondola at 40th floor (Photos)

The Singapore Civil Defence Force has done it again. Two workers were saved from being stuck 40 floors above yesterday afternoon.

SCDF last night boasted its latest height rescue operation by posting several photos of them saving two workers who were stranded on a gondola on the 40th floor of Capital Tower at No. 168 Robinson Road.

They were alerted to the incident at about 1:40pm and deployed their firefighters from the Marina Bay Fire Station. They went up to the 41st floor to “assess the gondola’s stability” and the workers’ conditions, SCDF said.

Meanwhile, SCDF’s Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team lowered rescue ropes to a platform on the 41st floor and descended onto the gondola.

They successfully hoisted one of the workers up to safety before helping the second worker, who had difficulty moving, onto a stretcher and up on safe grounds.

Both workers were later conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital.
