US president Joe Biden is being called out for not acknowledging his fifth granddaughter, Navy Joan Roberts, in a recent speech.
On March 18, the president of the United States gave a talk at a Women’s History Month reception at the White House, where he failed to count Navy Joan Roberts among his granddaughters, per US media.
“I see a future for all Americans, a future for my daughter and my four granddaughters – by the way, they’re incredible,” he said. “You should meet my granddaughters. Oh, you think I’m kidding. I’m not,” he added.

Has Joe Biden ever acknowledged the existence of Navy Joan Roberts?
According to US media, it’s not the first time Biden has come across as dismissive of his four-year-old grandchild, often claiming to have six rather than seven grandchildren. However a source close to the Bidens told People magazine that this was believed to be the most thoughtful course of action until legal proceedings between Hunter and Roberts had played out.
Nevertheless, Biden did address the existence of Navy Joan Roberts last July when he released a statement to People magazine about the issue. “Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward.”
“This is not a political issue,” the statement added, “it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”
